BIRD ISLAND - Riley Kramer delivered a three-run home run as part of a four-run seventh inning that lifted Bird Island past Raymond 6-4 on Sunday afternoon.

St. Cloud 1, Willmar 0

St. Cloud outdueled the Willmar Stingers in a 1-0 game that took 11 innings to finish the sweep Sunday afternoon.

Connor Aube got the 11th inning going with a leadoff double, just St. Cloud's third hit of the day, and Bobby Seymour added the lone RBI of the afternoon with a sacrifice fly to center field.

Neither team could get much going against excellent pitching, with St. Cloud's Kenny Saenz allowing just one hit with 10 strikeouts in his seven-inning start. His counterpart, Jonathan McKinney, was nearly just as good. He also only allowed one hit, striking out seven batters with two walks in 6-2/3 innings. Stinger reliever Louie Varland worked the rest of the seventh and all of the eighth, keeping the Rox off the board again.

But it was the Rox pitching staff that emerged victorious. Sergio Esparza pitched a nearly perfect eighth and ninth inning, allowing just one walk, and Jake Suddreth, the game's winning pitcher, allowed one lone hit with three strikeouts in two innings of work.

Willmar will now get a day to recuperate with Monday as a scheduled off-day before starting a home series against North Division-leading La Crosse Tuesday at Bill Taunton Stadium.
