Bonnie C. Grund, 67, of Willmar, died Sunday, September 9th at University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis. Her memorial service will be 1:30 pm, Friday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm, Thursday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and continue one hour prior to her service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Bonnie Carol Grund was born October 27, 1950, in Willmar the daughter of Harold and Aldora (Lindblad) Franzen. She died September 9, 2018, at 1:45 pm, from complications of Pulmonary Fibrosis. She grew up on a farm outside of Svea and also in Svea.

Bonnie attended grade school at Svea School, District 55, through grade 6. She attended Jr High and Sr High in Willmar, graduating June 6, 1968. After graduation, she went to Willmar Community College, enrolled in the Clerical program and graduated in May, 1969.

In September of 1969, Bonnie began working at Kandiyohi Cooperative Electric Power Association. She worked at the Coop until October of 1971 and then moved to Denver, Colorado and worked at Safelite Auto Glass for 13 months. In November of 1972, Bonnie returned to Minnesota. Bonnie worked at Kandiyohi Cooperative Electric Power Association in a temporary position for six months. In October of 1973, Bonnie began working at the Willmar Clinic until June of 1974.

On March 16, 1974, Bonnie married Gary Wayne Grund in Svea Lutheran Church. To this union two daughters were born: Jayme Leigh and Kelli Jo. They made their home on Bonnie's parents place. In 1975, Gary and Bonnie moved just outside of Svea.

In June of 1978, Bonnie began working at Burlington Northern in Willmar, working until December of 1982.

In the spring of 1983, Gary and Bonnie managed Kandiyohi County Park #1 on the west side of Big Kandiyohi Lake until February, 1988. In August, 1986, Bonnie returned to Kandiyohi Power Cooperative where she worked for 28 years, retiring December 31, 2014.

Gary passed away November, 2014 and Bonnie was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis shortly before Gary died. Bonnie had a lung transplant at the University of Minnesota on May 10, 2017. She spent months down at the University.

Family time was precious to Bonnie, especially with her four grandchildren, she loved spending time with them and would do anything for them. Bonnie also loved to sew, quilt, scrapbook and work outside with her flowers. She was active in Svea Lutheran Church and Eagle Lake Lutheran Church with the children's music and Christmas programs, choir, property committee and serving unit.

Bonnie is survived by her two daughters: Jayme (and Tim) Starkenburg, and Kelli (and Ron) Anderson; grandsons: Jordan Starkenburg, Noah Starkenburg, Kaiden Anderson and Ryker Anderson; her brothers: Bradley (and Bonnie) Franzen and Brian (and Beverly) Franzen; mother-in-law, Johanna Kuiken; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Kathy Jakes, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Barb Novotny; aunt and uncle, Eileen and Ralph Olson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husband Gary, father-in-law, Donald E. Grund and nephew Jared Franzen.
