Financing is focus of Dec. 13 Women in Ag event in Willmar
WILLMAR — Different options for agricultural financing will be featured at a Women in Ag Network event next week in Willmar.
The program will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Willmar Regional Extension Office, 1802 18th St. N.E.
The focus of the event is to provide information about where to start when seeking farm financing and information about what lenders want.
Topics include presentations about micro-loans, grants and traditional farm financing.
• Sarah Kern and Jen Thole, with the Farm Service Agency, who will talk about the FSA loan program.
• Ryan Roles, from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, who will speak about grant opportunities.
• Nathan Hulinsky, an extension educator with the Agriculture Business Management program, who will speak about resources the University of Minnesota has for farmers seeking financing.
The cost of the event is $15. Register by Dec. 7 by going to z.umn.edu/WAGN-Financing.
The Women in Ag Network is a collaboration of Extension with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Minnesota Farm Service Agency. It was created to provide educational opportunities for women involved in agriculture, to enhance their leadership, management and production abilities.
