UPDATE: MnDOT lifts no-travel advisory for many area state highways
WILLMAR – Thanks to crews getting out early today to plow snow off roads, motorists have gotten the OK to travel on a number of area state roads.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has removed all no travel advisories for state highways in southwest Minnesota, including all or portions of Lac qui Parle, Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Yellow Medicine, Renville, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Redwood, Pipestone and Meeker counties.
MnDOT advises motorists that while visibility is good, road conditions remain ice and snow covered in some areas.
The public can view winter road conditions from plow cameras available through the www.511mn.org website, however not all plows have cameras.
Road conditions on major highways can also be viewed through the Road Weather Information System which is also part of 511.
