Two injured in crash in Renville County

OLIVIA - Two individuals from Lake Lillian were injured Friday in a crash on U.S. Highway 212.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:39 p.m. Friday on a stretch of Highway 212 between Olivia and Bird Island.

Reinhold Gerhardt Kaiser, 83, and Marlys Hazel Kaiser, 76, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash and were transported to RC Hospital and Clinics in Olivia.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a GMC Sierra, driven by Paul Daniel Plumley, 37, of Bird Island was stopped at the intersection of Highway 212 and 370th Street, with its blinker on, to turn southbound on 370th Street. The Sierra was rear ended by a Ford Crown Victoria, driven by Reinhold Kaiser.

Neither Plumley, nor his passenger, Jacob Dion Prescott, 20, of Morton, were injured.

Fatal farm accident reported in rural Vesta

VESTA - A fatal accident was reported early Friday morning in rural Vesta.

Orlean Alvin Stage, 52, died of injuries he received in the accident at a farm in rural Vesta, in Redwood County.

According to the Redwood County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the farm around 12:22 a.m. Friday, on a call about an unresponsive male. No other details were given about the accident.

Assisting the Sheriff's Office was the Wabasso Ambulance, Lucan First Responders, Lucan Fire Department and North Ambulance.

Fuel pump damaged in gas drive-off

NEW LONDON - A gas station on Main Street in New London reported a gas drive off at 1:52 p.m. Friday.

According to the report the suspect filled their vehicle and then started to drive off with the fuel hose still in the gas tank. The driver then backed up, left the hose part of the pump and drove off.

Law enforcement said the vehicle registration was not current and no other information was available.

Motorcyclist critically injured in crash with deer

LITCHFIELD - A motorcyclist was critically injured after striking a deer Friday night near Litchfield.

Julia Zaka'an, 30, of Eden Valley, hit the deer around 8:26 p.m. Friday on County Road 11 near 655th Avenue in Darwin Township of Meeker County. She was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital with critical injuries.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office release said Zaka'an was riding a 1999 Harley Davidson east on County Road 11 when she struck the deer. She was thrown from the motorcycle and was not wearing a helmet.

Along with the sheriff's office, the Mayo Ambulance and Litchfield Rescue and Fire responded to the scene.

House fire reported in Willmar

WILLMAR - A house fire was reported at 1:51 p.m. Sunday at the 300 block of 10th Street Northwest in Willmar. No other information was available.

The Willmar Fire Department, Willmar Ambulance and the Willmar Police Department responded to the scene.
