WILLMAR - The Tri-Town BlackSox came to Willmar as a fill-in opponent on Wednesday and they left with a W.

Tri-Town's David Kingery worked a complete game and Connor Barker doubled in a pair of insurance runs in a three-run third as the BlackSox defeated Willmar Legion Post 167 4-1 at Bill Taunton Stadium.

Willmar was scheduled to play Montevideo, which cancelled, and Tri-Town agreed to fill in.

Kingery allowed one run on four hits, walked two and struck out four.

Barker had two of the BlackSox four hits.

Tri-Town took a lead in the first when Jaren Kaddatz reached on an error and Kobe Holtz singled. Holtz was out at second on Josh Kingery's fielder's choice, but Kingery and Kaddatz then pulled off a double steal, with Kaddatz sliding home safely for a 1-0 lead.

Willmar tied the game in the bottom of the first when Caleb Owens walked, stole second, reached third on a ground out and scored on Caleb Ditmarson's line-drive double to center.

Tri-Town regained the lead in the third when Shelby Shoen beat out an infield single, took second on an error and reached third tagging up on a fly out. He scored on a passed ball.

Holtz followed with a walk and Josh Kingery was hit by a pitch. Barker drove home both when he laced a double to left, making it 4-1 BlackSox.

Willmar put runners on in the third and sixth innings but couldn't get them around. In the seventh, Post 167's Ashton Gregory doubled with one out but Kingery got a pair of fly ball outs to end the game.
