Betty Lou Wulf, age 95, of Renville died Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018, at First Lutheran Church in Renville. The Rev. Stephen Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Renville. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m. and continues on Monday one hour prior to the services all at the church in Renville. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Renville, MN.
Betty Lou Wulf was born on February 3, 1923, in Olivia, Minnesota to Walter G. "Smoky" and Tillie (Doering) Smith. She grew up in Olivia and attended Olivia Public Schools. Betty was united in marriage to Earl Wulf on September 14, 1942, in Estherville, Iowa. To this union 6 children were born: Carol Ann, Karen Kay, Bonita Lou, Ronald Earl, Gary Charles, and Richard Darrel. Betty and Earl lived south of Renville their whole lives. Ronnie currently lives on the home place. Betty was a homemaker at farm and worked numerous small jobs. In the early 1980's, they owned and operated Earl and Betty's caf. Betty and Earl enjoyed going to auctions, and earned the nickname Sanford and Wife. Betty enjoyed cooking and baking for all her children, grandchildren, and friends and neighbors. Her favorite times were spent with all of her family. She moved to town in 1996, after Earl suffered a stroke. From July 2003 to the present, she has resided at East Ridge Court.
Betty in survived by her daughter Karen (and Marvin) Peters and their children and spouses: Kim, Brenda, and Jason, her grandson Kevin, her sons: Ronald (and Judy) and their children and spouses: Jennifer, Jessica, Jonathan, and Joshua; Gary (and Kathy) and their children and spouses: Nick, Brandon, and Bryan; Rick (and Rebecca) and their children and spouses: Adam, Chandra, Aaron, and Matthew; many grandchildren-in-laws great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; her brother Darrell "Dick" (and Camille) Smith of Sacred Heart, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, her daughters Bonnie and Carol Ann, her grandson Collin, two brothers and 3 sister one in infancy.
