Charlotte Rens

Charlotte Mae Rens, 88, of Willmar, formerly of New London, died Wednesday, October 3rd at her home in Willmar. Her memorial service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 16th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org

Charlotte Mae Rens was born on September 1, 1930, in Orange City, Iowa, the daughter of Bert and Hermina (Kempers) Mouw. The family moved to Montevideo, where Char graduated from Montevideo High School. She was united in marriage to Bernard Rens on April 14, 1950. The couple lived in Holloway and later move to rural Willmar. In 1977 they moved to New London where Char worked as a teacher's aide for 25 years for New London-Spicer Schools. She then worked for a daycare center. In 2015, Char and Bernie moved to Willmar.

Char was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in New London where she taught Sunday School and participated in Bible study.

She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, sewing, and feeding the birds. Char always looked forward to spending time with her family.

Char passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at her home. She is survived by her husband Bernie Rens of Willmar; daughters: Valerie (and John) Cohrs of Garner, NC, Vickie Oman of Pikeville, NC; son, Craig (and Kim) Rens of St. Michael; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother; and two sisters.
