Lawrence E. King, 95, of Canby, formerly of Willmar, died Monday October 8th at Sanford Senior Haven in Canby. His Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, October 12th at Church of St. Mary in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Canby. Funeral arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.

Lawrence was born on August 4, 1923 in Burton Township, Yellow Medicine County, MN, near Canby, the son of Melvin and Ann King. He grew up in the Canby area where he was baptized and confirmed.

On January 12, 1944, he was united in marriage to Caroline Kamrath at St. Peter's. Following their marriage, they farmed near Canby until retiring. For the past 33 years, they have lived in Willmar.

Lawrence enjoyed square dancing, fishing, hunting, and playing cards. He will also be remembered as the "Bikeman" for all the bikes he repaired and sold along with Caroline's help. Lawrence was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Surviving are his wife of 74 years, Caroline; children: Constance Lanners of Canby; Barbara (and Robert) Fry of Taunton; William (and Linda) King of Canby; and daughter-in-law, Linda King of Canby; six grandchildren: David, Ann, Maurice, Tamara, Chariese, and Robert; 13 great grandchildren and one great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Mike, grandchildren, Joseph and Harlan, two sisters and a brother.
