Robert "Bob" Davis

Robert "Bob" C. Davis, age 81, a longtime Minneapolis resident, died there on Feb. 4, 2019, of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) a rare neurodegenerative brain disease.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, at Bethel Lutheran Church Chapel in Willmar. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.

Bob was born on April 17, 1937, in Willmar, Minnesota, sang with the Bethel Lutheran Church high school choir, and in 1955 graduated from Willmar High School. Bob received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Minnesota. After college, he worked as a geographer and cartographer, and later as a county planner in New Jersey and Wisconsin.

Returning to Minnesota, Bob focused on regional comprehensive planning at the Metropolitan Council for 28 years. He led a team developing the Council's solid waste policy plan, worked on its first Metropolitan Development Framework (MDF), and became manager of the Council's comprehensive planning department.

Bob enjoyed golfing, jogging, boating, model building, classic cars, classical music, singing, piano playing, and gardening. He traveled widely and loved the outdoors and nature. His homes and cabin benefited from his handyman skills. Besides being a Green Bay Packers fan, Bob was a quiet, kind, responsible, superb individual.

Bob is survived by his wife Linda Schutz of almost 37 years, sons Mark and Michael (Lilian) Davis from Bob's prior marriage to Patricia Davis (nee Koester), brother Paul (Mavis, decd.) Davis, sister Shirley (Roger, decd.) Martin, and other relatives, in-laws, and friends.

Bob was predeceased by parents Robert H. and Ruth Davis (nee Larson), and brother Richard and sister-in-law Evonne Davis.
