Dennis Paul Hartman, our loving Dad, passed away on November 9th, 2019 after a long courageous battle against cancer. He loved being outside in nature, watching his family grow and was the last man standing at every bonfire. He was born on July 26th, 1944 and grew up on a farm in Okabena, MN. Dad went to college, served in the military and married the only woman to ever stop him in his tracks our Mom, Jan Maloney, just over 50 years ago. Dad always loved numbers and finance so a career in banking was perfectly suited for him. After working in Minneapolis, St. Cloud, Fairmont and Sherburn, he chose his hometown of Okabena to run the bank and raise his family. Community-minded, he served on many boards and committees. Dad and Mom moved to Diamond Lake near Atwater, MN after retirement and enjoyed all that lake life has to offer – fishing, boating, 4-wheeling, fireworks and watching the grandkids getting tossed around on the tube.

Dad was a humble man with a big heart and was always interested in others success. He will forever live on in the hearts of his adoring friends and family.

He was survived by daughter Ellen Recker, son-in-law Dave, and grandkids Ben and Nora Pickhinke. Daughter Anne Rogers, son-in-law Mike and grandkids Cole, Ethan and Brooke Garlock. Siblings Roger Hartman and wife Sandy, Gloria Andrzejewski and husband Paul, Bob Hartman and wife Marilee. Sister-in-law Nancy Hartman. Brother-in-law Wayne Maloney and wife Becky, and many loving nieces and nephews.

We’re sure his brother Dick and parents, Virginia and Paul Hartman, greeted him with open arms at the pearly gates along with other special family and friends.

He lived a beautiful story.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
