Idella Johnson

Idella M. Johnson, 94, of Willmar, died Wednesday, June 3rd at Bethesda Grand in Willmar. Her memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org

Idella Johnson was born to Elmer and Gina (Netland) Anderson on April 5, 1926, in Kerkhoven. They lived on the family farm until they moved to Willmar at a young age. Idella graduated from Willmar High School in 1944. On December 8, 1945, Idella was united in marriage to Norman Johnson in San Francisco. This union was blessed with two children. Following their marriage, they lived in Glenwood and Seattle, prior to moving to Willmar in 1951. Idella worked at Maracom for many years where she helped with organizing the printing materials. Idella and Norman were members of Vinje Lutheran Church where they were active members, helping during the annual Lutefisk dinner. Idella enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She would often babysit her grandchildren where they would play games, or walk to get donuts at the local store. Idella also enjoyed playing Bingo at Bethesda. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma.

Idella is survived by her children: Kathy (Paul) Olson of Buckeye, AZ; and Mike (Kay) Johnson of Willmar; grandchildren: John Olson, Kris Olson, Becky (Mike) Broll and Dave (Sara) Johnson; great-grandchildren: Zack, Isaac, Olivia and Rachael Olson; Landon and Olivia Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; and her parents.
