Lois Elaine (Schacherer) Franson May 1, 1942 - May 9, 2020

Lois Franson of Medina, MN and formerly of Sugar Land, TX passed away at the Wealshire of Medina on May 9, 2020 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She tested positive for the COVID-19 virus but had recovered from it at the time of her death.

Lois was born on May 1, 1942, to Wayne and Gertrude Schacherer in Dawson, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Catholic Church in Dawson. After graduating from Dawson high school she worked at the dental office in Dawson where she met Ralph Franson. Ralph and Lois were married on July 8, 1972, at Park Hill United Methodist Church in Denver, CO. They later moved to Novi, MI and then to Sugar Land, Texas where she resided until late 2019. She is preceded in death by Ralph in 1988.

Lois worked for Kelly Services and then for Chevron in Houston. She enjoyed her work, sewing, lawn work, traveling with her sisters, and going out to eat with friends.

Lois is survived by her siblings Wayne (Cathy) of Laurens IA; Alice (Lambert Abraham) of St. Leo, MN; Eileen Rosik of Lakeville, MN; Glenice Myers of Columbus, GA; Allan (Donna) of Dawson, MN; Virginia Schoen of Glen Burnie, MD; Muriel Bach of Canby, MN; Harold (Barbara) of Clarkfield, MN; John (Bonnie) of Annandale, MN; Jeffrey (Georgia) of Hastings, MN; Carol Andrews of Jordan, MN; Mary Smith of Wabasso, MN and step children Scott, Michael, and Jane. Lois is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as step grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Gertrude, husband Ralph, brother Don, and stepchild Barbara as well as brothers-in-law Earl Myers, Paul Bach, Richard Smith.

A celebration of Lois’s life will be held at a later date when social distancing is no longer in effect. She will be buried next to her husband in Richmond, TX. We would like to thank the Wealshire of Medina for their care.
