WILLMAR, Minn. - Mahlon J. Caylor, 94 of Spicer, died on Friday, May 15, 2020 at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar. A time of remembrance will be scheduled for a later date.

Mahlon Caylor was born on July 16, 1925 in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Archie and Agnes Caylor. He grew up in Willmar where he graduated from Willmar High School. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Danielson on January 6, 1948 in Webster, South Dakota. The couple lived in Willmar and in 1951 moved to Spicer. Mahlon worked for nearly ten years as a Butcher, first for Caylor Foods and then Orredโ€™s Grocery Store in Spicer. In the early 70โ€™s Mahlon left the grocery business and started a career with the Willmar Regional State Hospital in the housekeeping department, retiring in 1992.

Mahlon enjoyed all things in nature from relaxing on his front porch to walking in the woods observing all the animals. He took great pride in his home and his family.

Mahlon is survived by a sister, Lois in Ohio; son Gary Caylor of Plymouth; daughter Cathy(and Jack) Almquist of Willmar; five grandchildren: Ryan Nygaard, Michelle Caylor-Plummer, Dan Nygaard, Michael Caylor, Jon Nygaard; nine great-grandchildren and his best friend, his cat Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dale, sister Arletta, and wife Charlotte.
