Marilyn J. Hagen
Marilyn J. Hagen, 82, of Belgrade, died Friday, March 5, 2021 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Public visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade, where a 5:30 p.m. VFW Auxiliary service will be held. Private memorial services will be at Grace Lutheran Church in Belgrade. Interment will be in the Grace West Cemetery in Belgrade. www.hafh.org
Marilyn Joan Hagen was born on December 16, 1938 in Belgrade, the daughter of Lawrence and Ann (Verhoeff) Hald. She was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She attended country grade school at Ringville District #11 and Belgrade High School. On January 11, 1956, Marilyn was united in marriage to Donald Hagen. They made their home in Belgrade where she worked as an Avon Lady, and at the hardware and grocery store for many years. In retirement, she and Don enjoyed wintering to Arizona. Marilyn and Don were able to share in 53 years of marriage before his death in 2009.
Marilyn was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was active in circle, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school and bible study. She was also a member of the Belgrade VFW Auxiliary and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed having coffee with friends at the café, garage sales, thrift stores and auctions. Most importantly she treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Patricia Wold of Willmar, Bradley Hagen of Belgrade and Brian Hagen of Belgrade; three grandchildren: thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and brother, DeWayne (Glorene) Hald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents and brother, Virgil.
