Marilyn Nielsen


Marilyn Nielsen was born May 31, 1935, in Alexandria, MN to Ernest and Sophia Leines. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Willmar, MN where Marilyn grew up. She then attended St Cloud State College, after which she began a teaching career as an elementary teacher. Marilyn and Bob Nielsen were married in August 1973 in Worthington, MN at which time 2 families were united for a total of 7 consisting of 2 Nielsen and 3 Franta children ages 5-10. Bob’s employment required moves in the Northern tier of states. Marilyn always took these moves in stride and created a great new home for her family. Marilyn enjoyed entertaining friends and family. One of her favorites was hosting her famous annual New Year’s Day Brunch for friends for 18 years. Marilyn was an organized homemaker, wife, and mom. She always worked outside the home in various positions of management always making great impressions on clients as a positive, friendly, competent worker. Marilyn was proceeded in death by her parents. Surviving family members being Husband Bob, children Michelle (Pat) Wagemann, Patti Crume, and Mark (Dee) Franta. Stepchildren Lisa Titus, and Greg (Christine) Nielsen. 11 Grandchildren and 8 Great Children.
