Marjorie Ann (Werner) Marthaler of Burnsville, formerly of Brooten, died peacefully at her home on Friday, November 27, 2020.
Marge was born on August 10, 1937, to Gregory and Regina (Rauschendorfer) Werner in Watkins, Minnesota. She was a graduate of Brooten High School in 1955 and married Vernon Marthaler on June 26, 1956. They lived in Brooten, where they raised their six children.
Marge’s life was dedicated to her family and faith. Her greatest enjoyment came from watching her children and grandchildren compete in their various sporting events. She was an active member in the community and a member of the Saint Donatus Catholic Church, where she was a trustee and an organist for over 30 years. Marge was also employed by ELCA Board of Pensions, Minneapolis; and H & R Block as a tax preparer.
She is survived by her six children; Mary (Paul) Thompson, Monica (Larry) TeBrake, Marsha (Bruce) Schalk, Margaret (Dan) Essler, Michael (Heidi) Marthaler, and Michele (Troy) Perkins. Also surviving are her 12 grandchildren, Trent (Dana) Thompson; Greg (Jessica) TeBrake, Chris (Michelle) TeBrake, Adam (Britanee) TeBrake; Thomas (Jen) Schalk, Sydney (Derek) Smith; Jacob Essler, Adam Essler; Jack Marthaler, Andrew Marthaler; Jaya Perkins (Quardell Young), Taylor Perkins; six great-grandchildren Baker Thompson; Jackson and Weston TeBrake; Olivia, Reece and Harrison TeBrake; and two on the way; sisters Susan (Steve) Linder; Mary Jean (Jess) Fauschier; brother-in-law Jack (Liz) Marthaler and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vernon, on February 3, 2003, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Arnie Mollberg.
Due to COVID, a private family Mass will be held at Christ of the Risen Savior Catholic Church in Burnsville, MN, on Tuesday, December 22. Burial will take place at a later date at the Saint Donatus Catholic Cemetery in Brooten, MN
