At age 95, Lohart Lloyd Renner passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, MN.
Lohart was born on January 31, 1926 to Hugo A. and Elsie A. (Gatzke) Renner in Bismarck township, Sibley county, MN. He was the oldest of four siblings. Lohart grew up on the family farm near Brownton, MN. Lohart graduated from Brownton High School in 1944. After graduation he attended Dunwoody Institute to study carpentry. A majority of his work life was with Mortenson Construction of Minneapolis. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of several game and hunting associations.
Lohart was united in marriage to Charlotte Skalbeck on October 22nd, 1960 at our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Sacred Heart, MN. During their 57 years of marriage Charlotte and Lohart enjoyed traveling, visiting family and friends, gardening at their lake home of 40 years, 25 years of league bowling, and being active in their church. They were charter members of their church, Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Prior Lake. In 2014 they moved from their lake home on Prior Lake to McKenna Crossing senior apartments.
Lohart was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Charlotte, sisters Lucille and Velda, and brother Norman. He is survived by his brother-in-law Roland Steingraber, sister-in-law Lois Renner, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
