Many people are saying that one of Donald Trump's great strengths is that he says what he thinks, without the filter of political correctness getting in the way of the truth.

However, on Oct. 5 Donald Trump told an interviewer who asked about his insulting statements toward women that "a lot of that was done for the purpose of entertainment," adding, "There is nobody - nobody - that has more respect for women than I do." Presumably then, Donald Trump does not believe everything he says and some of it is just for "entertainment." How do we tell the difference?

Was it entertainment when he called POWs losers? Was it entertainment when he said that "some" Mexicans were good people, but the majority are criminals? Was it entertainment when he said that the United States should impose a religious test on immigrants? Was it entertainment when he said that law enforcement should use the unconstitutional practice of stop and frisk?

Was it entertainment when he said that more countries should acquire nuclear weapons? Was it entertainment when he praised the dictator Putin as a strong leader? Was it entertainment when he advocated torture because "they deserve it anyway"? Was it entertainment when he mocked a reporter with disabilities? Was it entertainment when he urged his supporters to engage in violence at his rallies?

Was it entertainment when he said that climate change was "a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese"? Was it entertainment when he said he was smart for not paying income taxes? Was it entertainment when he perpetrated the racist lie that the president was not born in the United States? Was it entertainment when he boasted about committing adultery? Was it entertainment when he boasted of being able to get away with sexual assault against women just because he is rich and famous?

Or was it entertainment when he said "There is nobody - nobody - that has more respect for women than I do."

Are you not entertained?
