This past week I was traveling through Bird Island when I decided to take a break.

Unfortunately I left my lights on, and my car was dead when I tried to leave. I walked over to the local gas station/convenience store and the woman working there told me, "Don't worry, this is the friendliest town in Minnesota. Someone will give you a jump."

It didn't take long before a gentleman stopped at the store, went home to get his jumper cables, and drove me back to my car and got me going. Of course, he refused any payment.

So I just want to say thanks to that good Samaritan and to the "friendliest town in Minnesota."
