My family and I have had the great privilege of knowing Kathy Schwantes for the past eight years. I have never met another person that has such ambition, leadership, compassion, integrity, poise and humility.

Kathy has been active in Vision 2040, the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, vice president of consumer loans of a locally owned bank, assistant director of Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission, dean of customized training at Ridgewater College and currently works through the University of Minnesota. She has the foresight in Willmar's local business, economic and educational needs. This is not through opinion, but through experience.

Being a part of a small business myself here in Willmar, Kathy has always lent her utmost support. I have witnessed her interaction with fellow small business men and women. She treats each individual with respect and strives for their success.

Kathy does not just say she is going to do great things for Willmar. She already has through her many years of community involvement, and will continue to do so.

I encourage those in Ward 1 to vote Schwantes on Nov. 8.
