The Blair House Bipartisan Show is over and there are no winners. Maybe, the only winner was the American citizens who were able to see first hand the behavior of congressional Democratic and Republican leaders.
There was little agreement on health care reform at the summit chaired by President Obama. Republicans were not buying what Democrats were selling on health care reform. In fact, the difference is a gap as wide as the Grand Canyon.
American citizens are not yet ready for comprehensive health care reform. They have many unanswered questions concerning parts of the plan. In addition, some are wary of the far left agenda in Congress.
Opponents of the current reform package have outmaneuvered the Obama administration to this point, successfully painting the proposed reform as radical and costly Obamacare.
Some believe health care reform is now unlikely. Health care reform is not yet dead, though it may be on life support.

The proposal's fate now rests with the House and Senate leadership. The major question is how much of a political risk they are willing to take.
There is little chance of any Republican support coming forward. Democrats will have to seek passage with a simple majority to force their plan through.
Then the November election battle will only intensify.
Only time will tell what the political outcome will be.
