The District 3 race is between incumbent Dean Shuck of Sunburg and challenger Doug Lindblad of Willmar. This district includes the northwest section of the county and two precincts in east Willmar.
Lindblad is an electrician by trade and a U.S. Navy veteran. He served 25 years on the Willmar Fire Department, including 10 years as chief. He is currently serving as chairman on the Willmar Utilities Commission. He said he is running to give voters a choice.
Longtime farmer Dean Shuck is running for re-election for his third term. He has served on the Arctander Town Board and the Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg School Board. Shuck is correct about this County Board holding down costs whenever possible. Shuck also brings a strong rural perspective to the board.
Voters should re-elect Shuck.
