As the organizers of the Fourth of July event at Robbins Island Park this past weekend, we would like to extend our most sincere thank you to the entire Kandiyohi County area for their participation. Without you this event would not have been possible.

We were blessed with outstanding weather, and support from our area business sponsors, as well as the Willmar city officials, Willmar law enforcement, Willmar Parks and Recreation, Willmar Utilities, Kandiyohi County Commissioners, Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department, the Minnesota State Highway Patrol and the fire departments from Paynesville, New London, Spicer and Willmar. A special thank you to Dave Baker for the beautiful flag out front and for the use of the golf carts to shuttle the handicapped to The Wall.

An estimated 12,000 people visited The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall over the four-day display. Friday night's program was attended by over 1,000 people. On Monday afternoon, the KMS Marching Band played to a crowd of over 2,000 well-wishers. Donations collected during their visit were presented to them for their upcoming trip to Hawaii for the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.

Thanks also to our many volunteers and the Minnesota Patriot Guard and the Vietnam and All Veterans of Brevard, Inc., for bringing this traveling piece of history to our area.
