I want to thank the two families for sharing more of the story of their daughters and how depression became such a destructive force in their lives.
Every person, every family, has a story of some type of vulnerability that is difficult to share for various reasons. The story of these young women and the ongoing story of their families, can remind all of us that we are strong and fragile at the same time.
Heartbreak can open our hearts to bring us together in a shared grief where we can begin to learn the lessons these two women's lives will teach us and remind us of for the rest of our days.
Many of us will never forget, in a way, these two young women we never knew. They remind us of something we so easily forget: how beautiful and fragile and fleeting life is and the complexity of sharing our deepest secrets.
But mostly these families remind me, in their openness, "how love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things."
