Denis Waitley, one of the most sought-after keynote speakers and productivity consultants in the world today, says, "There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them."
This spurs in me what our responsibilities are as free citizens of our country. Freedom is not free! We dare not take it for granted! We need to be paying attention to what is going on in our local, state, and federal governments.
Too many people do not like to get involved in politics. They think that they are above the dirty business of politics. They are very willing to criticize politicians and call them all crooked, but they are not willing to do the important work of learning what the various candidates really stand for and who actually is not crooked and most deserving of their critical vote.
In my opinion we are at the most critical crossroads of our country in our lifetime. Too often, I have heard how disappointed people are in our Congress. People complain that Congress has not been getting anything done. For two years, 2008 and 2009, we did see things "getting done" in Congress. In spite of most Americans disapproving, Congress and President Obama moved ahead very rapidly and rammed Obamacare down our throats. It sure seems to me that gridlock at that time would have been better than having the action in Congress that gave us this bad bill which will not only be taking away many of the freedoms that we now enjoy, but which will also inevitably bankrupt our country.
The Supreme Court could have ruled it unconstitutional. However, Chief Justice Roberts decided to put the ball back into the courts of the people of this country. Will we the people do the necessary thing in November to preserve our country and its freedoms by voting against all of the politicians who support Obamacare and all incessant spending, etc., or will we be content to accept the grim conditions as they now exist? The choice is ours.
