The United States is in trouble. People are not satisfied with what they have, they want more. There is much to be corrected and improved.

I was asked by Uncle Sam to serve for my country and was injured and made it back and was proud that I could help protect our freedom.

I am proud of the veterans who gave their lives for our freedom and a thank you to the living veterans.

When I started country school in 1928 my dad had a talk with me. He said when you get old you will see a bunch of educated fools trying to manage our country.

A very wise statement.

Then he said greed and luxury will one day ruin the world. I one day drove past a place and saw five snowmobiles, a large camper and fishing boat and a new pickup. I wonder if times are as bad as they say. The last he said was I hope you never get this disease because there is no cure for it. Doctors and Medicare will not help you. It's called hate and jealousy.

What a wise statement.

Following is what my mother had me memorize in 1932. You have to have trust before you have friendships. Friendships is one of our most valuable passions we have. You walk alone in this world when you have no friends. You have to have friends before you have freedom.

Let's hope our freedom does not get lost.
