A recent letter alludes to the group organizing the recall of Willmar City Councilman Ron Christianson as being vindictive. This is not about being vindictive or vengeful. This is about process.
We have a process as to how city governance is supposed to work. When Councilman Ron Christianson made city personnel decisions outside of a council meeting and in exclusion of the entire council, he violated the process.
Fortunately, the city charter also has a process for removing an elected official from office. We have the right and will work within the process to recall Councilman Christianson.
Ron Christianson is no longer acting in the best interests of the city of Willmar. He needs to be recalled.
