At the April 20 Willmar City Council meeting, Councilman Ron Christianson did not seem to understand who he works for. During part of a discussion he made the following statement: "We all realize that data privacy does not affect the council, only government employees." Which he followed sarcastically up with, "Now I wonder who set that up."
Does he not realize that we, the voters that put him into the position, are his employer? We are the ones that do his performance review through our votes. So we have to be able to see how he is conducting his job.
He has made it known many times that he does not like that the West Central Tribune, doing their job of reporting his statements and actions from council meetings. If he does not want to be under the microscope of his employers, maybe he should not be on the council.
Coming soon, the voters of Ward 2 will have the opportunity to help Mr. Christianson not have to worry about his statements and actions being visible to us. Support the upcoming recall campaign.
