After reading the letter by Patricia Carter Harding in the July 8 newspaper, I felt compelled to answer.
I have been involved in agriculture all of my life and have learned a few things. First, it costs a ton of money to farm. Second, to stay farming you have to make money. Third, in order to make money you must take good care of your livestock and the land.
People that don't farm don't seem to understand that the people who are still farming have figured this out.
If she had toured this dairy instead of reading her liberal biased article, she would know the cows are not in stalls and the manure is all recycled and used.
As for the FDA just turning the other way and letting things slide, you have the wrong organization. It's the FBI that does that!
