Ed Mickelson has written one of the best letters I have read in this paper for ages.

I was reading along agreeing with everything he wrote when I suddenly yelped at what I read because he had zapped me right between the eyes. If you missed it in Thursday's paper, hunt it down. The ending is so delicately written but so cleverly crafted-well, it's just plain wonderful.

I wish more of you people would get up the nerve to write these letters to the editor. I know there's plenty of talent out there and it only hurts on the first plunge. Much like jumping into Green Lake on an early summer day, after the first shock it gets better.

Keep it up, Ed, you are the master of subtlety and thanks for my Thursday morning heehaw.
