Why he’s with Baker
As the election draws near, I have heard misleading radio ads suggesting what Dave Baker might do if elected. I have talked with Dave regarding his priorities and visited his website.
Education is a high priority with Dave. In fact, he led the local effort to raise private funds to advance digital learning by providing iPads to juniors and seniors in the Willmar Public School system.
He’s concerned that Minnesota now ranks 47th on the Business Tax Climate index. A robust business climate is what drives our state. He’s concerned that recent business tax and income tax increases are beginning to drive some large revenue producers from the state.
He’s concerned that while the current Legislature has increased the state budget by 10 percent, with misguided priorities like building a $90 million Senate office building and parking ramp, the spending on K-12 education has reduced from 27.3 percent to 25.2 percent of the budget.

He’s concerned that the current Legislature has set their transportation priorities on sacrificing our crumbling roads for the sake of overpriced and underutilized rail projects in the Twin Cities.
On the issue of health care, he’s concerned that MNsure has resulted in higher health care costs for many thousands of Minnesotans - and rates are likely to increase next year.
For many years Dave has been communicating with elected officials as to why creating a strong private sector is the best way to really invest in Minnesota … for better education, better roads, reduction in reliance on assistance, better senior care, and so much more.
So, I looked into why Dave is running for District 17B and that’s what I came up with. I’m with Dave.
