Letter: All are welcome to join conversation

I'm writing to provide more information about the Chippewa County Civil Conversations Project, referenced in Tom Cherveny's article "Montevideo Opens Interfaith Dialogue." Our first meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at the Montevideo Community Center.

I attended both the interfaith and anti-interfaith events at our community center this week, and invited everyone at both events to the conversation on Thursday. Attendees will be asked to participate in small-group conversations with strangers of differing beliefs. The goal is not centrism, but civility.

If you did not attend the events in Montevideo but are concerned about these issues, you are welcome to join us on Thursday. People of all faiths and political beliefs will be welcomed and given a seat at the table.
