Willmar Police subdue man, take into custody after standoff at residence

Letter: Framers were 'gun fanatics' themselves

In the April 11 edition of the West Central Tribune, it was right neighborly of John Burns to explain the Second Amendment since it was written in that complicated English language.

He seems to be of the opinion that the first 13 words are much more important than the last 14. I disagree.

He also seems to be well-versed on what the framers were thinking. For example, he states that the framers would not have wanted a bunch of "gun fanatics" forming militias to overthrow the government.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that at least some of the framers were themselves "gun fanatics" who joined a militia to fight for freedom from the British government.
