This could be my last letter on the Willmar Municipal Utilities' power plant building. Now it sounds like that the old building could be demolished. Nobody seems able to come up with any plans to repurpose the building. Nobody seems interested in buying it. And the building itself is at an "awkward age:" still too young to be declared a historic landmark.

Keep in mind that this project could take a long time to complete. There's a lot of scrap metal, both inside and out, that needs to be removed. The boilers alone will take up a lot of space. Who knows? maybe those can be sold to another plant that's still active.

I'm getting ahead of myself here. As of this writing, I am unaware if any decision about the power plant is final. We'll just have to wait and see.
