Dennis Torgerson: Thanks to the West Central Tribune

I want to thank Gov. Tim Walz for including newspapers as an essential service.

I want to thank the West Central Tribune and its management for their stance concerning the importance of the press during the coronavirus pandemic.

Equally important is the role that their employees play.

As a former bundle hauler, I know first hand that they are on the front line at the West Central Tribune.

Without freedom of the press we do not have a democracy, without freedom of thought we are not a free country.

Freedom of the press means none of us will agree with everything in the paper, but all of us will agree with some things in the paper.
