There’s more to life than money. ... Money can’t buy happiness. ... The best things in life are free. ... Money can’t buy me love.
Phrase it anyway you choose: Money only goes so far in helping find balance
Minnesota has the right mix, according the 2015 study by WalletHub. Reinforced by a Gallup-Healthways poll, the finance website research ranks the state No. 2 on the happiness scale. Elsewhere in the Upper Midwest, North Dakota wasn’t far behind at No. 5 and Iowa was No. 8. South Dakota came in at No. 11 while Wisconsin ranked No. 18.
The study’s organizers say that while money can contribute to someone’s happiness - up to $75,000 a year - health, job satisfaction, environment and a good outlook help make for the whole package.
The No. 1 spot went to Utah, with top ratings for “working environment” (Minnesota 7) and “community, environment, recreational activities” (Minnesota 3). Minnesota was 1 in “emotional and physical well-being” (Utah 4).
Hey, parts of Utah get more snow than we do, so you knew the defining factor wasn’t weather.
