The Central MInnesota Jobs and Training Services Youthbuild Team has donated a community pantry box to the Gethesame Lutheran Church of Dassel. The pantry, similar to the miniature libraries popping up throughout the area, is designed to help individuals and families in need by providing non-perishable food items and can be accessed at any time. Members of the community are encouraged to take what they need and also leave what items they can spare.
The box was designed and built by several Willmar ALC High School students, including Jenissa Acosta, Allyssa Herrera, and Kimberly Sepulveda under the direction of CMJTS' Nathan Martinson, who serves as the Youthbuild programs construction instructor/supervisor.
They hope to construct and donate additional pantries around Kandiyohi County to serve more families who can benefit.
