Lindsay Petterson and David Walz, both of Minneapolis, are engaged to be married Jan. 1 in Seattle.
Petterson is the daughter of Lowell and Jean Petterson of Lake Lillian.
She is a 2001 graduate of BOLD High School in Olivia, a 2005 graduate of the University of Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in family social science/youth studies, and a 2011 graduate of the University of Minnesota with a master's degree in youth development leadership. She is employed by Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota in Minneapolis as lead educational support advocate.
Walz is the son of Lee and Vivian Walz of Sauk Rapids.
He is a 1996 graduate of Sauk Rapids-Rice High School in Sauk Rapids, a 2003 graduate of St. Cloud State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology, and a 2008 graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a master's degree in counseling psychology. He is employed by Perspectives Family Center in St. Louis Park as a mental health counselor.
