A couple of dogs were found deceased after firefighters responded to a house fire reported Friday in Farming Township. The two homeowners were not in the house at the time of the fire, according to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.

Troy Thomas Karger, 52, of Albany, Minn., suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a release from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.

A fire over the weekend in Albany Township burned a pasture and swamp. The fire was caused by a woman cooking maple syrup outdoors. The fire was extinguished and the woman issued a citation.

ALBANY — Dozens of people came out Monday to support business owner Kris Schiffler at his restaurant and bar in Albany after he announced he planned to open in defiance of Gov. Tim Walz’s executive order that keeps such businesses closed until at least June 1.
The 35-year-old victim from Albany was apparently in the grain bin to loosen up frozen corn when he fell in and was buried.
