The family of Ryan Erickson, the Blomkest firefighter killed while responding to severe weather in May, will receive death benefits from the Front Line Foundation. The organization, founded in 2018, provides financial assistance to the families of first responders who died in the line of duty.
Friends and colleagues attending the funeral for Blomkest firefighter Ryan Leif Erickson remembered him as a man who always “showed up” where he was needed. Erickson's funeral was Friday in Willmar.
Ryan Erickson's funeral is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022, at the Refuge Church at 1000 Sixth St. S.E. in Willmar. All Minnesota firefighters are invited to attend.
The public is invited to line Main Street in Blomkest from approximately 7 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in honor of Erickson's long service to the Blomkest Fire Department, the city of Blomkest and Kandiyohi County.
