The man involved in an attempted traffic stop and pursuit involving an officer from the Eden Valley Police Department on Saturday died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to an autopsy by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office.

A bus carrying 15 students from Eden Valley - Watkins School District was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Friday. Two students suffered injuries, as did the driver of the vehicle that hit the bus.
Seven area communities will receive grants for public improvements and housing and commercial rehabilitation projects through the Small Cities Development Program. The grant awards were announced by the Department of Employment and Economic Development.
Kobe Beattie, 19, of Watkins, was passing a vehicle on Meeker Stearns Street east of 632nd Avenue when he lost control and the vehicle left the roadway and hit a field approach, causing the vehicle to roll. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
