Khristian Apollo Kezena, 28, was sentenced to nearly three years in prison for first-degree impaired driving in Yellow Medicine County. This conviction marks his fourth within 10 years.
Sammy Enriquez, 47, of Sacred Heart, sustained non-life-threatening injuries after his semi truck collided with a cow Tuesday night on Minnesota Highway 19, about one and a half miles east of Franklin. He was transported to CentraCare — Redwood Hospital in Redwood Falls for treatment, according to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol.
A 22-year-old man was convicted in Renville County District Court for the rape of two girls in the city of Franklin. Lukus Alen Scheer was sentenced to 108 months and 70 months in prison, to be served concurrently. He will be on supervised release for life after he serves his prison sentence. Scheer's expected release date is Sept. 20, 2028, according to the Minnesota Department of Corrections.
Wind gusts were reported during Saturday morning storms of 70 mph near Danube, Minnesota, and 71 mph at the Olivia Airport. Tree and power line damage was reported.
