Ethan Walz, 26, and his roommate Alex Zierden, 28, woke up in the middle of the night Thursday to find smoke coming from the basement of their home. The two were able to evacuate the home safely with their two dogs.
Aaron Schlingmann, 43, of Janesville, Minnesota, died after a motorcycle crash on Stearns County Road 13. The crash was reported Sunday afternoon about one and a half miles South of Melrose. Another rider, 45-year-old Erik Buckley of Owatonna, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Michael Zirbes, 76, of Sauk Centre, died Monday at CentraCare Melrose Hospital after falling off farm equipment, according to a news release from the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.
