Vegas Golden Knights VP Nate Ewell Talks Team Success, His College Hockey Ties

Nate Ewell got his start in hockey media relations as a student at Princeton, then worked at Michigan State, was one of the founders of InsideCollegeHockey.com and worked with the Washington Capitals before spending a decade promoting the sport with College Hockey, Inc. In 2021 Nate and his family left his native New England and trekked literally cross-country, joining the Vegas Golden Knights as their vice president of communications and content.
Now in his second season with the Golden Knights as Vice President of Communications and Content, Nate and the team are four wins from the greatest prize awarded in sports, as they begin the Stanley Cup Final this weekend versus the Florida Panthers. Ewell joined Mick Hatten and Jess Myers from The Rink Live to talk about the Knights’ playoff run, his time promoting college hockey, and the explosive growth of the game in a place known more for slot machines and blackjack than for slap shots and backchecking.

Former SCSU Captain Jack Ahcan On Being Brock Boeser's Roommate, Nick Wolff, Fishing, His Brothers

Jack Ahcan was able to participate in the AHL All-Star weekend this past season when he had 36 points in 68 games playing for the Providence Bruins, the top minor league team of the Boston Bruins.
On this episode of the Huskies Hockey Insider podcast, he talks about several of the close relationships he's developed over the years with former teammates like Brock Boeser, Will Borgen and Nick Perbix and also the relationship he's developed with Providence teammate/roommate Nick Wolff.
As always, Ahcan also talks some fishing. He discusses what it was like watching his brother, Grant, play forward for the Huskies this season, what it was like playing for Bob Motzko (2016-18) and Brett Larson (2018-20) at St. Cloud State and more with The Rink Live's Mick Hatten.

Abbey Murphy did not have any other hockey players in her family. So where did her interest in the game come from? A fun story on how she got introduced to the sport through a neighbor.
While Murphy did not have hockey in her family, she grew up in an athletic household. Her brother, Dominic, is a wrestler at St. Cloud State. Her brother, Patrick, played college football at Carthage College and her mother, Lynne, is a member of the St. Xavier University Hall of Fame for her softball talents.
She says her feistiness comes from her father, Ed, who was a Marine.

Mikey Eyssimont is finally getting settled after a season that saw some massive moves. In 2022-23, Eyssimont played for the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League, then the Winnipeg Jets, the San Jose Sharks and the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL. So that's two countries and both coasts in America.
The good news for Eyssimont is that the former St. Cloud State player seems to have found a place in the NHL. He ended the season playing 15 regular season games and three playoff games with the Lightning. On Sunday, Eyssimont signed a two-year, one-way contract with the Lightning worth $800,000 per year.
In all his stops, he ended up playing a career-best 54 regular season games in the NHL after spending nearly all of his first five pro seasons playing in the AHL.
