Karla Schaefer and Adam Hemmesch, both of Paynesville, are engaged to be married Oct. 13 in Lake Henry.
Schaefer is the daughter of Tim and Cindy Schaefer of Paynesville.
She is a 2007 graduate of Paynesville High School and a 2011 graduate of Minnesota State University in Moorhead with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
She is employed by Conway, Deuth and Schmiesing in Willmar as an accountant.
Hemmesch is the son of Frank and Patti Hemmesch of Paynesville.

He is a 2004 graduate of Paynesville High School and a 2007 graduate of St Cloud Technical College with an associate degree in carpentry.
He is self-employed as a residential contractor in Paynesville.
