- Coach DeBoer comments: "Definitely, this is a rebuilding year (but) this is a really special group of girls who have played together for a long time, and are excited to finally get a chance to prove themselves. I know they will give 100 percent."

- The team will again rely on strong defense and athletic ability. The plan is to speed up the offensive tempo.

- Addy Nelsen, Lindsey Atchison and Laura Swartz all got significant time on varsity last fall. Swartz played middle hitter, but will move outside with 6-footers Katie Lippert and Emily Minnick available. Hailey Vreeman will share setter responsibilities with Nelsen. Seniors Taylor Flegel and Sara Kooistra will challenge for the starting spot on the front row. Shae Bruess and Casey Marcus will head up the defensive row.
