BIRD ISLAND - BOLD's offensive firepower was on full display against Montevideo on Tuesday.

The Warriors pounded 15 hits off three Thunder Hawks pitchers in a 17-7, five-inning win at Lions Memorial Park.

Montevideo took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first but it was all BOLD after that. The Warriors scored four runs in the bottom of the inning, three more in the second and four in the third to take a 11-2 lead.

Montevideo made an effort to get back into the game in the fourth, scoring five runs to cut the deficit to four. But BOLD put any comeback attempt to rest with a six-run fourth and relievers James Woelfel and Cade Moore set the T-Hawks down in order in the top of the fifth to end the game.

BOLD had eight extra base hits. Luke Ryan was 3-for-3 with two triples and a double, he drove in two runs and scored four times.

Reed Stadther had three hits, including two doubles, and he drove in five runs. Jack Peppel was 3-for-4, with a triple, a double and four RBIs. Hayden Tersteeg, who got the win, also was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Riley Weiss was 2-for-2, drove in a run and scored a run.

Montevideo's Ian Jahn doubles and drove in a run, and Christian Kanten, Derek Killibarda, Blaine Sederstrom, Jackson Snell, Noah Buseman and Jake Mundt drove in the T-Hawks' other runs.

BOLD's Section 2A seeding will be announced today. Montevideo is the No. 5 seed in the Section 3AA North sub-section and plays No. 4 North seed Morris/Chokio-Alberta at noon Saturday at Green Lake Diamond in Spicer.
