Basketball Roundup: BOLD boys open 2A with victory

BIRD ISLAND—A balanced BOLD team took control early and coasted to a 68-44 victory over Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity to open the Section 2A playoffs on Tuesday.

The game was delayed a day by bad weather conditions on Monday.

Drew Sagedahl led the Warriors with 14 points and Gavin Vosika finished with 13 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals.

Carter Henry also scored in double figures, finishing with 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

BOLD next plays New Ulm Cathedral at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter High School.

BBE is heading to the Section 5A final following a big performance from Macie Kirckof Tuesday night against East Central.

Kirckof rattled off 28 points and four steals to power the Jaguars, scoring more than half of the team's points in Foley.

BBE maintained a tie at halftime used a 28-16 second half to get the win.

BBE plays for section championship against Menahga at 7 p.m. Friday.
