WILLMAR—Everyone's heard the phrase "when it rains it pours."

But for the Willmar WarHawks, Friday would be more accurately described as sprinkle to tsunami.

Granite City ruined Willmar's regular-season home finale with a flurry of first-period goals and the Lumberjacks scored the game's first 10 goals on their way to a 13-1 victory at the Willmar Civic Center.

The teams wrap up the regular season at 7:30 p.m. today at the Armadillo Deck Sports Arena in Sauk Rapids.

Granite City's Logan Neu had a hat trick and an assist in the Lumberjacks' seven-goal first, and the Lumberjacks scored those seven goals on just 11 shots, forcing Willmar starting goalie Drake Voell to the bench after 13 minutes.

The Lumberjacks' Matt Moran also scored a hat trick and had an assist and Braden Altena had a goal and three assists. Chase DiBari and Brandon Bissett both scored a goal and assisted on two other tallies.

Willmar finally broke the ice on Brandon Holt's goal at 18:53 of the second on assists from Keegan Bauman and Sam Voss.
